My friend Nancy gave me all these windows I've been painting, and we thought that she should definitely have an "old piece" of her home and so this is one of her old windows, made new with a scene of simple white birches.

Karen's Window

This window was a custom order for two very wonderful friends of mine, they are soul mates, and this was a gift for one of them!
A bit of fun was had by me creating this whimsical piece of art!

The Old Man

I got a little inspiration for doing the "Old Man" from my friend and neighbor Stu, who is a stone mason, and loves basically anything ROCK. So, with his inspiration, a bit of my native New Hampshire heritage and fun twist on this tribute to the now fallen Old Man of the Mountains, I did this old 4-pane window. This sold at my last craft fair, and I believe it has found a great home!

Finished the Crazy Balloons....

I finally feel as though this fun piece is FINISHED. Those little red & yellow dots on the ground are a poppy type flower, I thought that was appropriate in such a twisted imagination picture! Fun patterns, relaxed lines and great colors make this a piece only for that extraordinary person who looks at things on "the other side" of the coin.....
Enjoy!

Primitive Winter Scene

I got such a strong response to the "Primitive" style windows, I thought I would go for a different season, my picture taking is not top-notch, but it gives the general idea...

Working on the beach....

Since I haven't really done a "warm weather" scene, I thought in the area up here where SNOW is coming soon, who wouldn't like to really see a nice warm ocean scene outside their window instead of feet of the "cold white stuff".....
Take yourself to a nice serene island... This one is just beginning, I'll repost the finished piece.

Crazy Balloons

When thinking of ideas for my next windows, I consulted my husband and also got some input from my Mom..... my husband said, "I think you should do a crazy one." and my Mom said "A Hot Air Balloon one would be colorful." (colorful is my favorite way to paint) so, little did I realize that my paintbrush would move me to make a CRAZY Balloon Window! Still not finished yet, but nearly done, a little whimsy, a bit of color, and fun patterns to inspire anyone to "think outside the window!"
Enjoy!

I am currently working on a couple of windows all at once. Because the "dry time" is more than I can stand to wait for, I found my time best used by working on several projects at the same time. Enjoy!

Primitive Window Scenes

So, I have these windows, and I know that in these parts in which I live, Primitive Art or Folk Art is very popular, so I have created some scenes for those of you that like it!

This is what I will name as Primitive Window I.

Completed October 2008, Original painting on an old window (yes, recycled too!).

Special Request for a Rooster Window

This window was made for a housewarming gift, the recipient had a fondness of Roosters, and so I was commissioned to create an illusion of seeing a ROOSTER out the window. So there it is.

Completed October, 2008.

Seussical Masterpiece

This window is complete and already sold. I had such a great response to it, that I plan on making one similar to it, I can't dupicate anything exactly, that is the beauty of an original piece of Art! I'll be posting more as I photograph them, but again, I will be selling these at the Tuftonboro Central School's Bazaar on November 1st 2008 if you'd like to check them out! The window is roughly about 22"x26" in size.
Enjoy!

The quote around the frame is "Be who you are, and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter And those who matter don't mind"

Painting on Windows

I started painting on these old windows that were given to me by a friend, and found the possibilities are truly endless on what you may find outside your window! These are all a work in progress, I truly have been working on about 4 at the same time, because of the "dry time" I am limited to how long I can really work on each of the windows, so here is a sneak peek at them! I will be selling them at the upcoming craft fair in Tuftonboro, NH's Tuftonboro Central School on November 1st if anyone is around the area! Enjoy!

Echo's Mobile Mural

This "Mobile Mural" was created with my favorite little cousin, Echo in mind. She lives in England, and where I would love to go visit her, and actually paint her walls, that was a little ridiculous. So, I painted this "Mobile Mural" for her to take home with her in her suitcase. Size of 4 feet tall by 5 feet wide, I stretched this out on heavy duck cloth canvas, painted it with acrylic paints, and then removed it from it's stretcher bars, and cut off the extra canvas so that she could roll it up, or fold it up into her suitcase! When she gets home, she can hang it on the wall with tacks, or frame it! It is really durable and easy transporting off the stretcher bars. Kinda fun whimsical style for a little person's bedroom, hope you enjoy!

Mount Washington, New Hampshire

I got the request for "Mount Washington" from an old friend who now lives in PA, but misses her view of this magnificent mountain, which has snow on it most of the year, with the exception of usually August and September months... This is a view I see nearly every day in the winter months driving north on Route 16.

Painting with Wild Daisies I (framed)

This is a fun piece I did with wild daisies out in the yard. I like how simple, yet colorful it came out, and then how dramatic it looks framed. This is small, anyone interested in purchasing one like it, please contact me. The size of the opening of the mat is 6 1/2"x 4 1/2" and the frame size opening is 8"x10".

Fenway's Green Monster in Pastels 2008

So, I got quite a response with the first Green Monster (the Mobile Mural one) and tried out a different medium (being the pastels/chalk) and made it smaller, and frameable! And got a different personalization request. So here it is, it is 18"x 24" framed in a 22"x 28" frame with a mustard outside mat, and inside matting is RED SOX RED! The details are more softened, but you still get that ballpark effect!

Painting with Gerbera Daisies I

A close up of the detail of this fun painting using real Gerbera Daisies and their stems using Acrylic Paints on watercolour paper!

This is the framed/matted finished piece. I made a wash with greens and blues for blending around the focal point of Happiness!

It is for sale for anyone interested, I'm asking $100!

It is a fairly large painting, the painting size is 18"x22", frame is larger, I want to say 23"x28" and is so cheerful! I also signed this piece.

Painting with Gerbera Daisies

These are the Gerbera Daisies I used to make the piece I called Painting with Gerbera Daisies I.
I did this piece on May 15, 2008.

The Green Monster Finished

I've finished the Green Monster painting, and thought some close ups of some of the details would be cool to see for anyone checking it out. Nothing says "Spring" like Fenway for all you Red Sox fans.... Hope you all get a kick out of Manny going for a catch! As you see, I sketched out a rough idea of the view, and this is the outcome of the project! Doodlin' Di Trademark 2008

The Green Monster

Currently I'm working on this painting of Fenway Park's Green Monster. My clients requested several details that make this "THEIR Green Monster", and I'm sure any of you Sox fans will notice them! This is also hand painted, no sketching out on the canvas or any guidelines like that, it is original!
My clients wanted a mural a bit more flexible, so I suggested stretched canvas, and so here it is!
I'm painting this on a stretched Canvas (done by me) with Acrylic Paints. Finished size is 40"h x 60"w. Doodlin' Di Trademark 2008

Did I mention that I LOVE SNOW?!! Just in case anyone wanted to know that.... and we just got another foot of the beautiful white fluffy stuff today! I love living in New England!

And this is the Sundown half of the room....

Part of the daytime, and sundown room, this is on the other half of the room, inside a dormer (which made the ceiling lower, and my little buddy Taylor wanted her "Angel" flying in the sky above here.) Originally I think she slept in this area of her room. Notice the skunk she wanted in the picture, it is sitting on the fence behind the desk, and I also painted a jar of fireflies on the other end of the fence.

Sunshine and Sunflowers....

In this room, the little lady wanted her room to look like she was outside, but she wanted one half of her room daylight, and the other half sundown. This is the daylight side, with some sunflowers.

Marie's Fairy

When I painted Marie's room, she specifically wanted THIS fairy, and as she demanded (hey, she knows what she wants!) she has all the colors of the rainbow, and of course after the paint dried, we made her sparkle with a little double-stick tape and some rhinestones!

Crazy Daisy

I just wanted to paint something fun on the small canvas, and I love black & white together, be it stripes, checks or spots, I love to see the fun abstract patterns mixed with bright primary colors to just POP! So, here is my "Crazy Daisy", inspired partially from my daughter Marie's rendition of how a daisy looks, and mixed with my love for the B&W combo and some COLOR! This painting is 18" by 24" on stretched canvas, painted with acrylic paints.

Finished January 4, 2007.
